My path to becoming a Legal Nurse Consultant began long before I ever considered working outside of a hospital. It started when I was a kid and I realized how good it felt to help others feel better. By the time I started college, I was well on my way to a nursing degree, but it was a personal experience that solidified my lifelong mission.
My grandmother who was a fierce woman and had already battled cancer multiple times, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It was devastating. While I had the desire to help her, I didn't yet have the education to fully understand or process what was happening.
What made all the difference were two hospice nurses who guided her to peace. Their incredible compassion and care, not just for my grandmother but for my entire family, still touches my heart today. In that moment, I knew I had a calling to help others in their most vulnerable times.
After 15 years as a registered nurse, serving in fields from long term care, the ICU, the ER, and ultimately becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I've seen firsthand what it means to be a patient—and a loved one—in a complex healthcare system. This experience taught me that advocacy is not just a part of my job; it's the core of who I am. Whether it was fighting for my own child during a life-saving surgery or helping countless patients at the bedside, I've always felt a deep responsibility to be the voice for those who are too tired or too sick to speak for themselves.
My experience as a Nurse Practitioner truly sets me apart. I don't just review medical records; I analyze them from both a provider’s perspective and a nurse's perspective. I can tell you why a doctor made a specific choice and what that means for a case. I built Clear Advantage with one goal in mind: to provide this unique clinical insight to attorneys and their clients. I believe that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, deserves a strong advocate.
This is more than just a business for me. It is a calling.
